A CLOTHING designer will be the next to take over Kendal's popular pop-up shop.

Natasha Lomas is the woman behind The Pink Flamingo, a brand that specialises in vibrant clothing.

Although Natasha, 23, has been selling her clothes in an online Etsy store since 2013, she hopes that the Finkle Street pop-up shop will bring her one step closer to having her own physical location.

"I would like to have a shop one day," she said. "I just like the idea of interacting with customers. It's a bit more real getting out there, isn't it? It's too good an opportunity to miss really."

Having studied a fashion design course at Manchester Metropolitan University, Natasha began to sell her clothes after she returned home to Flookburgh.

Natasha's collection features cropped tops made out of fabric printed with watermelons, floral shorts hemmed with pom-poms and a myriad of items featuring pink flamingos.

The pop-up store is owned by South Lakeland District Council, who have been renting it out since the March of last year, to great success.

"It helps promote smaller businesses and their brand," Ruth Leahy, SLDC's economic development officer, said. "It lets people try out the high street and then they might move into a property of their own."

Natasha will be selling her clothes at 28C Finkle Street for two weeks, with her residency starting on May 16.
