CUMBRIA'S newly-elected Police and Crime Commissioner is holding a series of public surgeries across the county.

Peter McCall is inviting people to come along and share their views about policing in Cumbria.

It was one of his election promises to meet with the public regularly to listen to their views on policing.

He will be visiting the Westmorland Shopping Centre, Kendal, on Wednesday June 29, from 12noon to 2pm.

“Holding surgeries such as these is just one of the ways that I plan to interact with members of the public, and I urge people to take the opportunity to come along for a chat.

I would also like community groups to make contact, as I really want to get out in the community to see for myself the issues and how policing can help.”

No appointment is necessary. Mr McCall will begin his series of public surgeries at the Tesco store on Hindpool Road, Barrow, on Tuesday, between 2pm and 4pm.
