A WOMAN was rescued after falling down a rocky embankment on the River Eden.
The Great North Air Ambulance were called to assist Penrith Mountain Rescue Team and North West Ambulance Service yesterday (June 27).
The woman, aged between 51-60, had fallen approximately 30ft down the embankment near to Lacy's Caves.
The woman was treated on scene for head, neck and arm injuries.
Members of the Penrith MRT used a stretcher and rope gear to lift the woman back up the embankment. She was then flown to hospital in Newcastle for further treatment.
