A LEVENS family whose home, kennels and cattery were severely flooded during Storm Desmond are seeking planning permission to build a new, flood-resilient home.
As reported by the Gazette, Chris and Bev White, of Moss Lea, and their daughter Emily, waded through more than three feet of water to rescue the animals in their care last December. The family were forced from their home and have been living in temporary accommodation ever since.
Now, Mr and Mrs White have submitted plans to South Lakeland District Council to build a replacement house at Moss Lea, where the living accommodation will be raised above the measured flood level.
