Netherfield Cricket Club enjoyed a perfect weekend with a wins in the league and Readers Cup, as well as securing their place in the T20 Finals Day.

Friday's T20 washout against Kendal saw them pick up a point which was enough to secure a spot at this week's Finals Day.

On Saturday they beat St Annes by five wickets to collect 15 Northern League points and on Sunday they demolished Kendal to progress in the Readers Cup.

And captain Ben Barrow was happy to reflect on a promising weekend.

"It was a good weekend to be fair, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Obviously Friday was rained of but we got what we wanted from each match," he said.

"The Saturday performance was really good, it was a professional win.

"We didn't really dominate with the bat but we did enough. We bowled well and as soon as you get into the middle order they can be exploited and I think we did that well."

At the midway point in the season Netherfield currently sit seventh in the table, one place behind rivals Kendal and a catchable 32 points behind leaders Leyland.

Barrow added: "We're sitting mid table, and we're not a long way from the top so there's still a lot to play for.

"We're a young side that's playing well and the only thing we've missed out on is putting together a good run in the league.

"In the second half if we can spin a few wins together it would put us right up there, we're just striving for that consistency."
