A KENDAL business is celebrating a decade in business.

Lakes Window Tints have bounced back after December's flooding affected its Dockray Hall Mill premises.

"Fortunately, I was able to rescue the office furniture and my tools before the floods got into the building,” he said. "A lot of the film itself is stored above ground level so I didn’t have to start from scratch in building up those stocks.

"Overall, I was very lucky and the flooding hasn’t really hit the business. Most of my clients seem to have recovered quite quickly too and I’m looking forward to a busy summer – especially if the sun shines and people need some shade!"

Andy Fell set up the business, which provides tinted windows, in the early summer of 2006.

He works with several local car sales businesses and garages as well as sign companies and individual car owners.

"In recent months, I’ve even put window tinting on to the windscreen of a power boat for a client in Windermere,” he said.

Other unusual past contracts have included the glass balcony screens of a mezzanine floor for a business in Grange-over-Sands and the conservatory of a residential home in Kirkby Lonsdale.

Along with many of the businesses on the Dockray Hall Mill site, Lakes Window Tints was affected by the December flooding but Andy has been able to continue working while his premises dried out.

He has had help from family members and local contacts to sort out his office electrics, flooring and other things that were damaged.
