COCKERMOUTH Mountain Rescue team assisted a 50-year-old man after he injured himself on Haystacks.
The team were called out on Saturday (July 16) morning to help the man who had sustained an ankle injury.
He spent the night at the 'Room with a View' bothy above Buttermere. His friends did not have a mobile phone signal, so carried on to Honister Youth Hostel, and then called the team.
Team members treated him and stretchered him down to Gatesgarth Farm, and then his friends took him to West Cumberland Hospital.
