A KENDAL volunteer has been awarded a certificate for his five decades of service.
Kevin White has volunteered at the Kendal Putting Green for more than 50 years, having set it up in 1965.
Mayor of Kendal, councillor Stephen Coleman, presented Kevin with the certificate and town shield for his work.
Originally from Barrow, Kevin has said that he is most proud of the fact that he has competed in every competition at the putting green since 1966.
He has been secretary and is now president of the Kendal Putting Green Association and has said he will continue volunteering and playing well into his eighties.
