A WOMAN was freed from a car after crashing into a building in Appleby.

Firefighters were called to a report of a road traffic collision on Doomgate at 10.29am on Sunday.

A 4x4 had collided with a house leaving a woman trapped in the back of the vehicle.

Two paramedics treated her while firefighters stabilised the car using chocks and wedges before releasing her from the vehicle.

She was taken to hospital by ambulance, along with a second casualty from the car.

A building inspector attended to check the safety of the property which was cordoned off for safety reasons.
