A POPULAR member of the Age UK Lancashire lunch club has celebrated her 100th birthday.
Gladys Till enjoyed a special surprise celebration at the Scarthwaite Hotel in Caton, organised by Ron Harris, Ann Rogers and Anne Oliver.
All of the lunch club members had a collection and presented her with a Waterford crystal fruit bowl and Donna Studholme, Operations Director for AUKL, was there to present her with a bouquet of flowers. Gladys was also presented with birthday cards signed by everyone and received an extra special card from the Queen.
One of the lunch club members made and decorated a cake which celebrated Gladys’ love of sewing and knitting.
Gladys has lived in Caton all her life and has two children and four grandchildren. She lives a very active lifestyle and enjoys holidays and spending time with her family.
Gladys has been supported by Age UK Lancashire for a number of years and on August 12 will be given the honour of officially reopening their flood-hit office in Lancaster.
