ONE teacher is hoping to bring some calm to Kendal with her new beauty and holistic therapy training school.

Angela DaCosta, with the help of her business partner Michelle Lewin, is going to be offering her expertise at the Professional Therapy Training school.

"We need to look at prevention rather than cure," she said. "It's about maintaining our health rather than treating it when it goes wrong."

Angela has been teaching complementary and beauty therapy courses for more than 20 years and will be offering courses relating to various types of massages, make-up and reflexology.

The school will also be offering business courses for those looking to start-up their own companies.

Previously a teacher at Kendal College, Angela said that she wanted to offer a more flexible way of learning for students.

"I am doing it because it's a far more flexible way of providing qualifications to meet individual needs," she said. "It's not a set course or a set time within the year."

Although the business has not yet created any new jobs, Angela hopes that if it proves to be popular then she will be able to take people on to help her deliver them.

The school is officially open on September 1 and will be operating from Sandaire House in Kendal.
