A KENDAL fashion label is celebrating two exciting anniversaries.

This summer marks special milestones for Lakeland Skirts and Horsley Couture.

Owner Eleanor Horsley is celebrating her second anniversary since taking the reins of the business in August 2014.

This month also marks 60 years of Lakeland Skirts – a popular brand that was founded in 1956 and is now joined by sister brand, Horsley Couture.

Eleanor said: “These past two years have been a whirlwind – but the best whirlwind I could have ever imagined. Since taking over the Lakeland Skirts brand two years ago, I have had the most incredible time growing and developing the business to make it the best it can be.

"I have been listening to the praise and the feedback from our loyal customers to make sure they are getting the service and the products that are the same high quality they have always enjoyed.”

Eleanor founded the Horsley Couture label after working as a professional pattern cutter for prestigious brands in London. In 2007, she left London for Vietnam, where she taught fashion design and started the label.

After returning to the UK, Eleanor moved to the Lake District where she also began designing bespoke wedding gowns.

In August 2014, Eleanor took the reins of Lakeland Skirts, keeping the small business, which was founded in 1956, alive in the face of closure. Now, Lakeland Skirts continues to design and create made-to-measure skirts for customers around the UK.

Eleanor added: “I am absolutely delighted to be celebrating these two wonderful milestones, for both the Lakeland Skirts brand and the Horsley Couture label.

"The last two years have been such an amazing time for me and I am looking forward to developing the business further over the coming years. It is an incredibly exciting time for Lakeland Skirts and Horsley Couture and I would like to thank everyone who has supported me over the last two years, and of course, a huge thank you to our wonderful and loyal customers."
