ARTY classes for youngsters are to launch in Carnforth amid a flurry of paint, glitter and clay.

Award-winning company The Creation Station is bringing its fun workshops for babies and toddlers to the north Lancashire town, and everyone is welcome at the family launch event this Thursday (August 25) at Carnforth Civic Hall from 10 to 11am.

Joanne Cameron, who will be running the classes, explained that the weekly creative classes are designed to nurture parenting skills and children's natural curiosity by sharing hands-on art and craft activities.

Mums, dad, grandparents and carers will be given ideas and tips to continue the play ideas at home, and the classes have been developed in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.

The Baby Discover classes are for tots aged five to 18 months and the Little Explorer classes are for toddlers aged 15 months to five years. Activities include exploring wet and dry clay, creating clay creatures, matching shapes and colours, and making dancing puppets.

The termtime classes are to take place at Carnforth Civic Hall, with Little Explorers at 10am, and Baby Discover at 11.15am, both on Thursdays.

at Carnforth Civic Hall.
