A CUMBRIAN start-up is a finalist for three national business awards.

Lakes and Lambs, based near Penrith, have been nominated in three categories in the Rural Business Awards – Best Rural Clothing Business, Best Rural Start-up and Rural Entrepreneur of the Year.

Set up by Jannike Taylor, just three months ago, the company designs and manufactures stylish children's overalls.

Jannike said: “We are surprised but absolutely thrilled to be recognised in these awards, especially this early in to our journey.

"Our overalls are designed and made from scratch, and we are so excited that the judges have singled us out in not one, but three categories. I am full of admiration for the other businesses recognised and am looking forward to meeting them all at the awards ceremony.”

The results will be announced at the awards ceremony on October 13 at The Belfry Resort and Spa in the West Midlands.
