AN OCTOGENARIAN proved you are never too old for high-flying fun by becoming the oldest person to complete the exhilarating Go Ape course at Grizedale Forest.
Melvyn Jubb, from Norfolk, was given the gift as an 80th birthday present.
The route involves seven tandem zip lines - covering a total distance of 3km - that traverse the skyscraping Douglas Firs in the popular forest.
Melvyn, from Norfolk, said: "What started as apprehension quickly turned into an unbelievable experience! I’d highly recommend it for teenagers and octogenarians alike."
Site manager Paul Brady said: "Melvyn is a superstar – he’s certainly given some of our veteran apes a run for their money."
