TWO men accused of a burglary in the Lake District are due to go on trial in the new year.

Daniel Mark Eve, 39, and Patrick Ruddy, 44, each face one allegation in relation to a break-in which is said to have occurred in Bowness last month.

The pair appeared together in the dock at Carlisle Crown Court and during a short hearing before Judge Barbara Forrester, they each entered a plea of not guilty to a charge of burglary.

It is alleged that on August 19 they entered a property at Helm Close and stole a wallet and contents.

The court heard that Eve, of Acre Moss Lane, Kendal, and Ruddy, of Back Lane, Staveley, are due to go on trial in the week of January 16.

In the meantime both men were remanded on conditional bail.
