Road closures and lengthy diversions as A590 works start
OVERNIGHT roadworks started between Pool Foot and Roam Bridge on A590 on September 25.
Carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing will take place alongside Rusland Pool layby, with temporary traffic lights in place.

From September 26, the A590 will be totally closed in both directions between 8pm and 6am for a total of four nights.
Drivers heading eastbound for the M6 will need to follow a diversion from Greenodd roundabout, using the A5902, A5084 to Torver; A593 through Coniston village and Ambleside and then the A591 and A592 to Windermere and Newby Bridge respectively.
Drivers heading westbound towards Ulverston and Barrow will need to use the same diversion in reverse from Newby Bridge.
