THE recent release of charming stamps featuring Peter Rabbit, Mrs Tiggy-Winkle and Squirrel Nutkin has been hailed as first class by MP Tim Farron.
The Royal Mail issued the commemorative stamps to celebrate 150 years since the birth of Lake District storyteller Beatrix Potter.
The Westmorland and Lonsdale MP met with figures from the Royal Mail at last week's Liberal Democrat party conference in Brighton.
"It was great to meet representatives of the Royal Mail and to celebrate the Beatrix Potter commemorative stamps that were produced to celebrate her 150th anniversary last month," said Lib Dem leader Mr Farron.
"Beatrix Potter is very much a part of the Lake District, and tourists flock from around the world to our area to learn more about her and see for themselves the charm of the area that inspired her."
