TOWNSFOLK in Carnforth are making plans to celebrate Lancashire Day next month.
On Sunday, November 27, the town crier of Blackpool has been invited to proclaim the historic occasion at Carnforth's war memorial.
Carnforth Town Council also heard that a special event is to take at Millhead Village Hall, near Carnforth, on the eve of Lancashire Day.
The Friends of Real Lancashire say that the yearly celebration marks the date in 1295 when King Edward 1 called the county's first elected representatives to Westminster.
