CHILDREN from St Mary’s C of E School in Kirkby Lonsdale got a taste of the great outdoors when they visited a north Lancashire glamping pod site.

Box Tree Farm Camping Cabins in Wennington welcomed more than 60 year five and six children after they had taken party in a challenging ten mile walk.

The trip formed part of an outward bounds day organised by the teaching staff of the school and headed up by Duncan Bromiley, who was looking for a safe yet exciting venue for the children to spend the night.

He said: “The weather was fantastic and added to the success of the day, allowing the children to cook their own food over fire baskets, toast marshmallows, pet the miniature Shetland ponies and play in the secure grounds until after dark."

Box Tree Farm has bespoke pods equipped with five beds and kitchen essentials - all set within 30 beautiful rural acres.
