A KENDAL man has been sentenced by a judge for a single-punch attack which left his victim with a fractured cheekbone.
Christopher Miles Boon, 37, was a passenger in a car which pulled up alongside Alan Ure on Station Road just after noon on November 19 last year.
Carlisle Crown Court heard how Boon got out of the car and then struck Mr Ure once to the left side of his face. This caused him to stagger backwards before seeking refuge in a nearby charity shop.
Boon admitted causing Mr Ure grievous bodily harm, and was sentenced today by Judge Barbara Forrester.
Having heard mitigation and considered background information, Judge Forrester imposed a 36-week prison term which was suspended for 12 months.
Boon, of Mossghyll, was also given a 25-day rehabilitation requirement and must observe a five-month night-time curfew.
