THREE Windermere businesswomen have joined forces to launch the Cumbrian Family Business Awards.
Sue Coulson of Coulson Associates, Janett Walker from Make It Happen and Sophia Newton from The Good News Girl are behind the event.
The trio have been looking for ways to help celebrate the family business community which make up 85 per cent of businesses across the county.
Sophia said: “Family businesses contribute so much to our community and economy and we wanted to reward their successes and celebrate their resilience and diversity.”
Finalists from the Cumbria Family Business Award will win automatic consideration at the national Family Business of the Year Awards run by Family Business United.
October 13 is the opening date for applications from family businesses large and small with the high-profile awards ceremony taking place on Friday 10 March 2017 at Castle Green Hotel.
