A BUSKING group of recorder-playing friends raised £65 for Macmillan Cancer Support at Kendal's Birdcage.
Liz Sharp, of Kendal, told the Gazette: "It was a beautiful day, with no wind to blow our music, and we played for an hour without getting too cold.
"I'd done a recce a couple of weeks ago by myself to ascertain the best spot and see what it's like to play outdoors- it's great fun!"
Back in September Liz took her Macmillan charity coffee morning onto the streets of Kendal when just two people turned up at her house, eventually raising more than £1,100.
"I enjoy playing and meeting interesting people," said Liz, of Low Fellside. "It spreads love and I'm not working at the moment or buying many Christmas presents so have time on my hands for good causes."
In December she plans to busk again in Kendal with her woodwind-playing friends for Manna House.
