A JUDO player who trains at both Burneside Judo Club and the Kendal Judo Club Performance Centre has brought home a gold medal from the BJC National Championships at Kettering.

Nathan O'Sullivan won gold in the 13-15 years Under 60 kilo weight category – after hardly breaking sweat.

Except for the final, all of Nathan's contests ended in under two minutes.

His first bout against Harry Burns from Washington Tyne & Wear saw a knee wheel throw (Ashi Guruma) give him a half point lead which he quickly followed with a Scarf Hold for the full point.

His second contest against Paddy Lish, from Pontefract, ended with a full point score from one of Nathan's favourite techniques, an Inner Thigh Throw (Uchi Mata).

In is third fight Nathan produced another tremendous Inner Thigh Throw which the referee surprisingly only scored as a half point when it thoroughly deserved the full Ippon. but his opponent submitted from a hold down a few moments later.

The final against Jack Kelly from Ollerton, East Yorkshire, a half point score from a Knee Wheel throw gave the Burneside and Kendal player the gold medal.
