BOOTHS has teamed up with food app, Map Your meal, to educate shoppers about their purchases.
The Kendal branch of the supermarket will be running a series of special events to test the app in store.
Users can scan a product's barcode to find out how green, fair or sustainable the item is.
Cumbria Development Educating Centre (CDEC) project officer, Gabi Badoti, said: "We are very positive about the impact Map Your Meal is making, helping people think quickly and easily about the origins and fairness of their food.
"We hope people will come along to Booths Kendal to try the new app for themselves and find out more."
The Map Your Meal app testing events at Booths Kendal take place in store on today (December 5) and tomorrow (December 6), to coincide with Lost Species and World Soil Day respectively.
