Following many years of hard work and determination, Carus Green Golf Club member and England player Adam Chapman has turned professional.

The 21-year-old, who has described the achievement as a ‘culmination of work and commitment’ will compete in the Algarve Tour in Portugal from December-February in his first championship as a professional player, followed by the Gecko Tour in Spain in March.

Adam, who is coached by Carus Green’s PGA professional Andrew Pickering, has enjoyed a good season, and will be looking to gain entry to play some European Tour events in 2017.

With the whole team from Carus behind him, he will hopefully be able to make a successful transition.

Pickering said: “Adam has been working extremely hard on his game and is 100 per cent ready to compete at this level, both physically and mentally. It is absolutely the right time for him to be turning professional. With massive changes ahead of him, Adam faces a challenging time, but we are all delighted for him and support him unreservedly. He is currently actively seeking sponsorship for 2017, so if there are any local companies or individuals willing to sponsor him, please do contact me.”

“I am very excited to be entering a new chapter of my life and would like to thank the whole team at Carus Green for their support and encouragement,” said Adam. “This is now the culmination of many years’ hard work and that hard work will be continuing. I’m looking forward to the independence that turning professional will bring; earning my own money, travelling and working towards the European Tour.”
