POLICE in south Cumbria are investigating a burglary in which items worth more than £16,000 were stolen.
The burglary occurred at Mole Country Stores, Crakeside Business Park, Greenodd, at around 6.20pm on December 6.
CCTV footage from the scene shows two masked intruders were involved in the break-in, when a hole was cut in a rear fire door to allow them access to a storage area.
A large amount of animal medication for the treatment and vaccination of cattle and sheep was stolen, along with approximately £1,000 from the safe.
Detective Sergeant Mike Wallace of South Cumbria CID said: “While there is no suggestion the medication has been stolen to replicate controlled drugs, I would advise members of the public to exercise due diligence around the illegal purchase and consumption of any none-prescribed medication.”
It is suspected a vehicle has been involved in the theft of these items which have a collective retail value of over £16,000.
Police are appealing to any members of the public who may have relevant information to make contact on 101 and ask or leave a message for the DC Jon Reed.
