FARMERS in Cumbria have been asked to be on the lookout for potentially stolen animal treatments and medication following a burglary at Greenodd.

Goods and cash, worth more than £16,000, were stolen from Mole Country Stores, Crakeside Business Park, Greenodd, at around 6.20pm on December 6.

Included in the haul was a large amount of animal medication.

Detective Sergeant Mike Wallace of South Cumbria CID said: “While there is no suggestion the medication has been stolen to replicate controlled drugs, I would advise members of the public to exercise due diligence around the illegal purchase and consumption of any none-prescribed medication.”

Cumbria Police would also like the farming community to be aware of the following treatments and dips that may be being offered for sale:

Closamectin pour on, Cydectin, Eprinex, Molemec cattle pour on, Triclamox cattle pour on, Cydectin drench, Fasimec duo, Molemec sheep drench, Triclamox sheep, Cobexin, Footvax, Heptavac pplus, Ovivac pplus, Frontline plus dog.

If anyone is offering any of the above items for sale who normally would not be trading in such items or selling at too good a price call 101 and contact DC 574 Jon Reed at Barrow Police.  All batch numbers are recorded so legitimate vendors need not be concerned.
