With musical performances from Heversham, Milnthorpe and Storth Primary Schools, there was plenty on offer for the scores of people who went to the event.

Suzie Kavanagh, chair of Christmas On the Green, said that everything went 'very, very well'.

"Being in the lounge it felt very relaxed," she said. "Last year we were forced indoors because of the weather reports but it was a lot nicer for people of all ages to walk around, stay warm, sit down and just generally be relaxed. So we took that feedback on board and listened."

There was also performances from Lacuna Choir, Kendal Millennium Youth Choir and Otto Voce.

Alongside the music there was free face painting, 'have a go' craft stalls, Santa's Grotto for the children and market stalls selling everything from jewellery to hot chocolate.

"The raffle suggests that the event was well attended," Suzie said. "We sold at least 400 tickets which suggests there was a footfall there and Santa's Grotto sold about 109 tickets.

"It was festive and we can look forward to Christmas a little bit more now."
