A PARTNERSHIP between Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club and Sedbergh Soap Company will see the club raise money through the sale of custom-made products designed specifically for players.

The award-winning soap company has developed a bespoke soap which uses lime and the naturally exfoliating properties of bamboo, which was selected with rugby players scrubbing themselves clean of mud in mind.

The products are designed to fit with the rugby’ club’s colours and branding, and also feature slogans in keeping with the sporty theme.

Dorthe Pratt, founder of Sedbergh Soap Company, said: “My son plays for Kirkby Lonsdale so I had already created a new soap bar with bamboo, which is ideal for scrubbing the mud off.

“When KLRUFC contacted me so see if we would be interested in working together, it made perfect sense. After all, the players all need a shower to scrub up well after training and matches.”

Bryan Bradshaw, President of Kirkby Lonsdale RFU, said: “We have a strong first team and are very fortunate to have a very large youth section as well.

“We are always looking for new ways to raise funds to support our players and our new partnership with Sedbergh Soap Company has opened up a new avenue for us to raise funds on a long term basis.”

As well as the soap which contains bamboo, the KLRUFC product range includes a shower gel that doubles up as a shampoo, as well as a lotion.

All of Sedbergh Soap Company’s use entirely natural ingredients and are suitable for sensitive skin.

Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club have enjoyed a successful season so far, having won the first 12 games in Division North 1 West, gaining a four try bonus point in every game.

This makes them one of only four such clubs in England to achieve that at this stage of the season and they lead the Division by seven points.
