A man was rescued after injuring his hip while he was walking on the far eastern fells of the Lake District yesterday.
The man had slipped on a damp rocky path while walking on Wansfell, suffering a suspected fracture and dislocation of his hip in the fall.

Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 11.42am on January 1.
The team members treated the man at the scene and he was then stretchered to the Great North Air Ambulance and airlifted to hospital.
Fifteen volunteer team members were involved in the rescue, which lasted 90 minutes.
