A66 incident
A SERIOUS road traffic collision involving four vehicles on the A66 at Temple Sowerby occurred today (January 16).
The collision took place at around 1.15pm and involved a Kia, a Volvo, a Honda and a Vauxhall.
A man in his seventies was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle. He had been travelling in the Kia.
The other people involved are not believed to have suffered serious injury.
The road was blocked in both directions but reopened at around 4.35pm.
