AN investigation has been launched after a dog walker was struck by a car.
Police said a 62-year-old woman, who was walking two dogs and from the Wigan area, was in collision with a car on the eastbound carriageway of the A590 at Newby Bridge near to the junction with the bridge over the River Leven, towards the Swan Hotel.

A force spokeperson said the woman declined treatment following the incident at about 5pm on Tuesday, January 17.
The vehicle was a black Ford Fiesta, driven by 60-year-old male from the Haverthwaite area.
