A KENDAL woman is to run a triathlon to raise money for the charity who 'gave her life back'.
Katy Oliver was diagnosed with a brain tumour two years ago, and shortly afterwards suffered a stroke.
She was helped by Rosemere Cancer Trust, and is now undertaking the physical challenge at Kendal Leisure Centre to repay them for their kindness.
Katy said: "Thanks to the care I received at the Rosemere Centre in Preston, I have been able to rebuild my life.
"It is through sport that I have become stronger and happier, and so I wanted to celebrate this fact by giving something back.
"I am still fighting and it's thanks to Rosemere. They helped me get my life back on track.
"They have also been great at Kendal Leisure Centre. They have let me go in to train when I want and they are letting me use the site for the triathlon for nothing."
Due to Katy's ongoing illness, the triathlon will all be done inside. It will include a 400 metre swim, a 20 kilometre cycle and a 16 kilometre walk and run.
The triathlon will be taking place on Tuesday February 14.
Katy has currently raised £558 for Rosemere, and you can donate by going to: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/KatyOliverTriathlon
