A PAIR of 20-year-old twins who left a man with a broken nose in an assault in Ulverston have been jailed.

Luke Crowe, of Barrow, and William Crowe, of Ulverston were sentenced to 20 months imprisonment at a Youth Offender Institute.

They appeared at Preston Crown Court after pleading guilty to a charge of Actual Bodily Harm at an earlier hearing.

The sentenced followed an incident on June 9, 2016, when the pair assaulted a man as he walked near to Sun Street, Ulverston.

Their victim sustained a broken nose, severe bruising, and swelling and cuts to his face and chest.

Detective Constable Sarah McArthur said: "This was a nasty assault that left the victim with significant injuries, and I am pleased that the twins have been brought to justice for what they inflicted.

"Cumbria Police do not tolerate violence and we will continue to work hard to ensure that those who think they can get away with assaulting people end up before the courts."
