WORK to lay a new sewer on the A592 will be suspended for the half term holidays tomorrow and resume on February 27.
United Utilities is laying a new 6.5km sewer - part of a programme of work to reduce the amount of phosphorous in Windermere.
The sewer is being laid in stages, with a rolling road closure in place.
Barriers will be removed tomorrow evening and once work resumes it will run until Easter.
Work is due to take place in phases over three successive years, with the scheme due for completion by March 2020.
The scheme will reduce the number of times the sewer network overflows into the lake during heavy storms. These overflows are a contributor of phosphorous in the lake.
