A MAN accused of stealing almost £10,400 from Lake District car park ticket machines has denied any wrongdoing.
Harvey Davidson, 30, is on trial at Carlisle Crown Court. He denies three theft charges which relate to alleged crimes at the Grizedale and Whinlatter forest park sites.
These are said to have occurred between October, 2013, and June the following year.
At that time Davidson was employed by the Forestry Commission, which owned all of the ticket machines.
Davidson, of Portland Square, Workington, began to give evidence on day two of the hearing yesterday.
His barrister, Philip Andrews, asked: "Have you every stolen any monies from any machines or anywhere else that don't belong to you?"
Davidson replied: "I can categorically say I have never stolen anything in my life."
The trial continues.
