MILLIONS of pounds worth of some of the world's most luxury vehicles are expected to attend this year's biggest-ever Elite Sports and Performance Car Club (ESPCC) show in South Lakeland.

The Cumbria International Motor Show, returning for its sixth year, will feature hundreds of cars from the most bespoke marquees from around the world.

With Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Aston Martins and Porsches to name but a few all lined up to attend, director David Robinson, of Dalton-in-Furness, is expecting a fantastic spectacle at the Westmorland Show Ground, Crooklands, on Sunday, May 14.

"You're going to be able to see some of the best cars ever made," he said. "Cars you don't see every day on the road.

"People will be coming from far and wide to see their dream cars, and if you ask nicely, you might be able to sit in them."

Further to the range of supercars, racers and rally cars, there is much more on offer at the annual vehicle and lifestyle event. There will be live music performed throughout the day from the likes of Cumbria's own Megan Doherty and the Paper Cranes; food outlets; Prosecco and gin tents; luxury retailers; children's entertainment and a special talk from Dr Keith Mitchell on speed record breaker Donald Campbell.

The ESPCC show started in 2012 as a small event in the carpark of Lakeland Motor Museum with around 30 cars in attendance. Since then, it has grown considerably with up to 500 cars due on show this year.

Mr Robinson added: "My first show only took me three weeks to put on, but it's gone crazy. Now it's taking me six months to sort out.

"The feedback from last year was superb with people saying they couldn't wait to come back."

Advance tickets cost £6 for adults and £2 for children and are available from www.espcarclub.co.uk and the Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal.
