KENDAL Town crashed to a third consecutive defeat by losing 3-0 at Hyde United on Saturday.

Two goals in the early exchanges by Laurence Bell and Matthew Beadle saw Kendal chasing the game before Beadle added second midway through the second half to round off a disappointing afternoon for the Black and Whites.

Hyde made a flying start and were 1-0 up inside five minutes when Big Khamsuk cut inside the penalty box before placing a square pass to Bell who fired an exquisite right footed effort into the top left hand corner of the Kendal goal.

Two minutes later Hyde doubled their lead when Laurence Hunter fired in a pin-point cross to Beadle who volleyed the ball home at the back post.

Hyde continued to dominate as Jamal Branker’s drive on goal hit the inside of the cross bar, while Paddy Miller drove the ball wide of the right hand post after Kendal struggled to clear the ball away from the edge of the penalty area.

Kendal showed little threat going forward as the hosts defended well while both Matthew Dudley and Charlie Bailey created half chances on goal with Dudley firing a tame header at Hyde keeper Russ Saunders before Bailey’s pass across the box was cleared by the Hyde shot stopper.

The hosts finished the first half on the front foot as Kitchen did well to deny Miller and Beadle, while Miller missed a shot on goal after Kendal left the centre half unmarked.

Hyde pressed and probed during the second half while the centre back partnership of Miller and Harry Coates defended well as Kendal struggled to create any opportunities on goal.

Bell, Hunter and Beadle all created further chances for the hosts, while loanee Steven Yawson and the Kendal attacking players had a quiet afternoon.

Hyde sealed the game in the 80th minute after a 60-yard pass by Miller fell to Beadle who ran onto the ball before firing home a half volley into the bottom left of the Kendal goal.

Will Kitchen prevented a fourth goal when Peter Boyle saw his powerful effort well saved by the former Morecambe shot-stopper.

Kendal will be desperate to improve and bounce back as they host Tadcaster Albion on Saturday in what is a crucial game for David Foster’s team.
