CUMBRIA County Council is investing approximately £350,000 in road repairs and improvements on the A592 near Ullswater.
This essential work will involve resurfacing to replace a worn out section of the carriageway but also drainage repairs to help reduce the risk of future flooding on a section of road between Dobbin Wood and Knotts.
MORE TOP STORIES:
Due to the extensive repairs required and the narrow and twisty nature of the road, it will be necessary to close the A592 near the A5091 junction at Aira Force and the U3136 Knotts to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians. A signed diversion will be in place via the A5091 and A66.
The closure will start on Monday, February 27,and is expected to last for two weeks, subject to weather conditions, with the road to remain open at weekends.
All local businesses including the National Trust car park and the Ullswater Steamer Pier at Aira Force will remain open during the work.
