WESTMORLAND Gazette readers are being asked to show their kindness once again to a clothing appeal for Middle East refugees.

Donations can be delivered to St Thomas's Church, Kendal, between Sunday, February 26 and Monday, March 6. Items being collected by mums from the church for the Samara's Aid Appeal are:

- summer and winter clothes, coats and snow wear for adults, children and babies

- new underwear in packaging

- clean boots and wellingtons and winter shoes

- new and used blankets and sleeping bags

- wheelchairs, zimmer frames and pairs of crutches

- Moses baskets and baby bedding

- disposable nappies (no swim nappies).

People are asked to donate £5 per batch of clothing to cover transport costs (cheques payable to St Thomas' Church, with Samara's Aid Appeal written on the back). Drop-off times are 9am-5pm Monday-Friday or Sundays 9am-12pm and 7pm-9pm. For more on the charity, visit www.samarasaidappeal.org

Samara's Aid Appeal started in 2014. It is a self-funded appeal, operating under the auspices of Feed the Hungry, a registered charity in England and Wales.

www.samarasaidappeal.org. The appeal has grown into a large humanitarian project and has recently opened much-needed hospitals in Syria.

We have been involved almost since the beginning and have had a lot of support from Westmorland Gazette readers, Windermere Soroptimists, local churches and schools.
