Kendal Bowmen's 40th annual indoor shoot was held on Sunday at Queen Katherine School in Kendal.

The event was well attended by archers from as far afield as Thirsk, Chorley, Millom and Penrith, with ages of entrants ranging from ten years old to much older.

Prizes were won by many members of Kendal Bowmen, including juniors Ethan King, Patrick Newell and Luke King, and seniors Mun Yau, Colin Lewis, Tim Swane, Roger Brasenell and Freya Wise.

Kendal Bowmen Archery Club was formed in April 1972 by Father Frances Hughes, a Catholic Priest who had recently moved to Kendal.

Over recent years the popularity of archery has continued to increase, with Kendal Bowmen seeing a lot of people join.

The next club tournament - the Long Bow Western Shoot - is due to be held on Sunday, March 19 at Kendal Cricket Club, starting at 11am.
