BUSINESSES in Cumbria are being offered the chance to influence the Government’s new industrial strategy.
A Green Paper is out to consultation until April 17. Any business or member of the public can comment.
Cumbria Chamber of Commerce is planning to submit a response and is embarking on a consultation exercise to shape what this should say.
Chief executive Rob Johnston said: “The Green Paper on industrial strategy marks a sea change in government policy. “Prime Minister Theresa May and her Business Secretary Greg Clark have indicated they will be more interventionist than any previous government since the 1970s.”
This summary is on the Chamber’s website and the Chamber is inviting major employers to breakfast briefings on the Green Paper in Carlisle, Kendal, Ulverston and Workington. The deadline for comments to the Chamber is April 7.
