A group of former Kendal High School pupils have reunited around 70 years after leaving the school
In 2015 The Westmorland Gazette printed a photograph of the school's fifth form back in 1947.
That prompted around a dozen of the group to get back in touch and, since then, they have been meeting up to renew friendships with hold reunions twice a year.
The latest event, at the Crooklands Hotel, involved nine former classmates from as far afield as York, Penrith as well as Kendal and surrounding villages.
Pictured left to right are: Elizabeth (nee Turner) Quiggin; Miriam (nee Wood) Chapman; Marjorie (nee Calvert) Isherwood; Dorothy (nee Coles) Maguire; Yvonne (nee Beetham) Pickthall; Marie (nee Goodall) Staples; Joyce (nee Cummings) Booth; Dorothy Milner; and Freda (nee Riley) Hunter.
The next meeting is planned for September 15 and anyone interested in joining the group should contact Marjorie on 01539 729944.
