THE red carpet is being rolled out in Cumbria today to welcome Princess Anne to the county.
The Princess Royal began the day opening the new parish hall at Warcop, near Appleby, before visiting Kirkby Stephen Grammar School and the town's mountain rescue team base.
She is due to finish her flying visit stopping off the Save the Children charity shop in Windermere.
There she will meet Jean Tolson, Eva Alexander and Margaret Turner who are celebrating their 50th year of volunteering in the shop.
