THEATRE company Nearly There Yet brings family show The Party to The Brewery, Kendal, on Saturday (April 1) at noon & 3pm. THE penultimate concert in the Lakeland Sinfonia series presents gifted clarinettist Emma Johnson performing Butterworth's idyll of the English countryside and Elgar's Sospiri (Sighs) which creates a calm mood before the brilliance of Weber's clarinet concerto. Haydn's London symphony no.104 in D ends the evening with music of vigour and excitement. The concert takes place on Saturday (April 1, 7.30pm), at the Westmorland Hall, Kendal Lakes Leisure.

AN EVENING with Howard Jones Solo (The songs, The Piano & The Stories). It was in 1983 that Howard Jones first burst upon the contemporary music scene with his very English song-writing, pioneering synthesizers and thought-provoking lyrics. Having sold globally more than 8 million albums, we can expect an intimate trip through his 30 year music career, behind the scenes stories and his inspiration behind the songs in this rare acoustic show, playing tomorrow (March 31, 8pm), at The Grand, Lancaster.

RIDING Lights Theatre Company brings us a communal experience of theatre and worship with Crosslight, Passion Play for Lent. TAKE a trip down memory lane and join Lakeland Motor Museum’s Classic Drive and Ride In Day on Sunday (April 2) in the heart of the Lakes. You can take your own classic vehicle to get discount entry to the museum or just turn up to see the hundreds of private classic cars, motorbikes, buses and commercial vehicles on display outdoors. The museum is also open to view, again with a diverse range of classic vehicles including an exhibition and tribute to Sir Malcolm & Donald Campbell’s racing careers, with full sized replicas of 1935 Blue Bird car, 1939 Blue Bird Boat K4 and 1967 jet hydroplane Bluebird K7. Other exhibitions include a nod to the popular camping and caravanning trends in the Lakes, a tribute to the Isle of Man’s TT plus a range of automobilia which features vintage petrol pumps, enamel advertising signs and die-cast scale models.
