BOOTHS supermarket will take its first steps out of the North West this year, as it announces a joint venture to sell premium Booths brand products in Malaysia.

The retailer will provide goods to high end food retailers across East Asia, offering new markets a taste of their chutneys, jams, coffees and teas, flavoured water, healthy snacks and breakfast items. They are available in 19 shops across Malaysia.

Booths’ new Export and Business to Business department is headed up by Henry Booth, who visited Malaysia to meet new customers earlier this year.

Henry said: “I’m very happy that British products made in the north west of England could have such a positive and enthusiastic reception on the other side of the world and I hope that the Malaysian customers will grow to love Booths’ products as much as the customers we serve in the UK.

"There is a real fondness for heritage brands in Asia, and we hope the Booths story and products will capture their imaginations."
