THE tiny Ulverston cottage where Sir John Barrow, founder member of the Royal Geographical Society, was born is to be repaired.
The Grade ll-listed property at Dragley Beck is owned by Ulverston Town Council, which also owns the monument to the explorer and statesman on Hoad Hill.
The council is seeking planning consent from South Lakeland District Council to fix cracked rendering and re-point the chimney, among other works.
