HILARIOUS Easter production Murdered to Death brought to us by the Ambleside Players takes place from Tuesday (April 18) to Saturday (April 22, 8pm). Written in the best Agatha Christie whodunnit tradition by Peter Gordon, the author of Out of Focus, the cast of characters include Bunting the butler, a very English colonel with the prerequisite stiff upper lip, a shady French dealer d’art and his moll, bumbling local inspectors and a well-meaning local super-sleuth who just seems to attract murder. The homicide takes place at the Kelsick Centre, St Mary's Lane, Ambleside.

REMEMBERING Fred - relive special moments from the career of dancer extraordinaire Fred Astaire, as Aljaz and Janette from 'Strictly' perform steps and turns from the golden age of Hollywood's most celebrated dance routines. The show, which promises to be a magical evening of top hat, white tie and wonderful tales, is backed by a full supporting cast of dancers, live band and sensational singers. Plus audiences will hear from famous Fred fans, including Twiggy, Darcey Bussell, Don Black and Bruce Oldfield, who will share stories of how the screen icon touched their lives. THE Lake District is set to play host for the 10th year running to the Where is Peter Rabbit? Treasure Trail organised by The World of Beatrix Potter, at Bowness-on-Windermere. Children and their families will be able to join the search for 100 handcrafted limited-edition ceramic eggs, going live on Wednesday (April 12) at 10am. This digital egg trail continues until all of them are found but be warned it's no walk in the park, the trail covers some 6,800 square kilometres, the equivalent of 2,600 square miles! THERE'S plenty of Horseplay at Carlisle Racecourse this Easter, as well as seven top class National Hunt races on Saturday (April 15), families will be able to mosey on down to the special Wild West-themed day. KIRKBY Stephen & Brough Classic commercial Vehicle Rally takes place Easter weekend – Saturday & Sunday. Expect around 250 examples of commercial working vehicles from the last century on display at seven locations, spread between Kirkby Stephen and Brough. Each venue can be reached via a free classic bus and coach service. There’s also an Edwardian fairground of roundabouts, shooting gallery, catering and trade stalls.

MEDIEVAL Re-enactment - the Normans are setting up camp during the Easter weekend – Friday to Sunday (April 15-17). Step back 900 years into the time of the Normans in Lancaster, with an immersive medieval experience at Lancaster Castle. Norman Knights will be invading the grade 1 listed building. The Historia Normannis re-enactors will create a fully functioning encampment that will showcase the life of the civilians and military alike. Visitors can take a tour around the tents of an Earl and see how the poorer man lived and worked. There’s authentic cooking to the songs of the time, including a doctors Leach Tent, Scriptorium Display with replica documents and craft tents showcasing the skills and craftsmanship of the age. Kids will love the mix of arena combat displays, living history area, humorous historical presentations, demos and talks.
