INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed photographer Ashley Cooper is the latest signing for Ambleside’s Festival of the Fells.
Mr Cooper, who is based in the Lake District, will present an evening at the festival to talk about his ground-breaking book Images from a Warming Planet.
It is a collection of more than 500 dramatic images of the impact of climate change across the world – including flooding in Cumbria - which has been hailed as a call to political action by environmentalists.
The book has been endorsed by many leading environmentalists and politicians including writer and campaigner Jonathan Porritt and actress Emma Thompson
The Festival of the Fells will be staged in Ambleside from September 21-24 following last year’s successful inaugural event. It will include guided walks at high, mid and low levels, abseiling and ghyll-scrambling, guided swims, exhibitions, music and comedy.
It is organised by Ambleside Together whose popular ‘Love Ambleside’ campaign was launched last year.
Ashley Cooper: Images from a Warming Planet will be at Zeffirellis jazz bar on Friday September 22 at 8pm.
